The Okaloosa County School Board approved Michelle Robinson Cook as the Assistant Principal of Lewis School at the August 27, 2024, School Board meeting.
Mrs. Cook is a product of Okaloosa County School district. She attended Kindergarten at the old District Office on Lowery Place in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, and moved schools with her mother, also an educator, going to Cherokee Elementary, Wright Elementary, and Bruner Middle School. She graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School. Cook obtained her bachelor and master’s degree in Career and Technical Education (CTE) from the University of West Florida (UWF) and began her teaching career as an American Sign Language (ASL) and CTE teacher at Niceville High School in 2004. She moved to Bruner Middle School in 2011 with the beginning of the CTE program in middle schools. In 2012, Cook was Bruner’s Teacher of the Year and in 2022, she took on the role as Dean of Students. In 2023, she furthered her education by completing a master’s in educational leadership at the American College of Education, graduating summa cum laude. She has served in various roles during her tenure including Department Chair, Teacher Mentor, and Softball and Golf Coach.
Cook and her husband, Charles, have been married for 28 years and are the proud parents of three amazing children. She is thrilled to join Lewis School as a Falcon.
