The Okaloosa County School District, in partnership with the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce and Eglin Federal Credit Union, is excited to promote the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation 2025 National Civics Bee®. We encourage teachers and parents to motivate their 6th-8th grade students to participate in this incredible opportunity to build civics knowledge, writing, public speaking skills, and leadership, all while competing for prizes!
Key Details:
Essay Submission: Students will respond to a 3-question essay on improving their communities. This is a chance for your child to make a real difference in their local area. Essays are due by February 4, 2025.
Competitions: Judges will select finalists to compete in regional competitions from March to May, where students can win trophies, prizes, and recognition.
State Finals: The top 3 winners from each local competition will advance to the State Finals in Tallahassee (mid-May through August).
National Championship: One state finalist will win a trip to Washington, D.C., for the National Civics Bee Championship in the fall.
